ALINE UMWARI

 Aline is a master’s degree holder in Project Management She has a good understanding of the agriculture sector and she worked on numerous projects including Farmers’ cooperative on maize quality 4 rounds on impact and sustainability irrigation in Rwanda, Assessment of horticulture cold chain technology in Rwanda. She worked in IPA (Innovations for Poverty Action) as a seasonal consultant from 2018. Right now, Aline is running an Aflakiosk project, where her main duty is to test aflatoxin levels in producers and traders’ maize, engaging with the traders and linking them to the relevant market.

 

ARMIN LALUI

 Armin is a trade economist specialising in export growth and trade facilitation. He began his career in South Africa in 2007 before moving to Rwanda in 2011, where he worked with the Ministry of Trade as a senior trade policy advisor till 2015. Between 2017 and 2019, Armin coordinated the World Bank / IFC Rwanda Investment Climate Program. Armin has been a team leader on various trade-related assignments across East and West Africa. He has drafted several national policies and strategies including the Cross Border Trade Strategy and National Export Strategy for Rwanda. Armin has an MSc in Development Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. He is currently based in Rwanda

 

BENJAMIN BYINSHI

 Benjamin Byinshi is a master’s degree holder in Agriculture Economics with experience in designing and implementing value chains research. He has participated in numerous studies including the Increased Maize Value Chain Efficiency project done with Sight and Life. Currently, he works under Aflakiosk project as a Senior Analyst

 

SARAH IGITEGO

 Sarah has a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Rwanda, CAVM. Prior to joining Vanguard, She worked in Rwanda Standard Board as a professional intern. In 2020 she worked on the project named Rwanda Enhancement for Enabling Policy Support to the Dairy Sector of the University of Rwanda and Florida. She is currently running an Aflakiosk project as a field operator where her main duty is testing maize quality, engaging with traders, and linking them to the relevant market.
